Lame memes have become a popular form of online entertainment, and there are a few different genres that tend to be the most popular. These four memes may not be particularly clever or original, but they’re definitely among some of the worst ‘lame memes’ out there today! Lame Meme Genres While there may have been some initial humor to this meme, it’s definitely lost its appeal over time and is now considered one of the lamest around. It features a goofy-looking dog (usually Shih Tzu) surrounded by a cloud of smoke with the caption “Stoner Dog” or something similar. The ‘Stoner Dog’: This is one of the oldest memes around and is still going strong despite its age. Unfortunately, this meme has been used so often that it’s now just as tired and overused as the baristas it was originally mocking.Ĥ. The ‘Hipster Barista’: This meme was originally created to poke fun at the pretentiousness of coffee shop baristas who take themselves too seriously. It quickly became popular but has since become an annoying cliché that’s used in far too many situations.ģ. The ‘Overly Attached Girlfriend’: This meme was based on a YouTube video featuring Laina Morris lip-syncing to Justin Bieber’s song “Boyfriend”. Despite being popular for a while, it quickly became overused and tiresome.Ģ. The ‘Most Interesting Man in the World’: This meme was based on a Dos Equis beer commercial featuring actor Jonathan Goldsmith as the “Most Interesting Man in the World”. So without further ado, here are some of the worst ‘lame memes’ of all time:ġ. These memes are often low-effort, unoriginal, and just plain unfunny. We use memes to express our feelings, make jokes, and even for political satire. On June 4th, Tumblr user dankmemeuniversity reposted a meme from /r/dankmemes with over 60,000 upvotes using the format in reference to Twitter Blue, garnering over 17,000 notes in three weeks (shown below).Memes have become an integral part of our daily lives. The format continued to see use over the course of June, resulting in a number of other viral examples. On May 30th, a post to /r/memes by u/antisocialhomebody using the format gained over 60,000 upvotes in under a month (shown below). On May 26th, u/SregioPrez posted another new variation to /r/ memes, garnering over 35,100 upvotes in a similar span of time (shown below, right). On May 25th, Redditor u/space-_-man made a post to /r/ProgrammerHumor using the format, garnering over 1,900 upvotes in a month (shown below, left). The format continued to spread across Reddit over the course of the month. Later that day, a screenshot of the meme attached to a funny comment from it gained over 17,400 upvotes on /r/cursedcomments. It was shared to /r/dankmemes the same day, garnering over 16,500 upvotes in the same span of time. The image was posted to /r/funny later that day by u/In-Jail-Out-Soon, garnering over 900 upvotes in a month. In this case, the top left image reads "OnlyFans" and the bottom left is a Google search reading "boobies" (shown below). The first image shows Lame staring into the camera with an unimpressed expression, and the second shows him shrugging with his hands up as if pointing at something that should be obvious. On May 13th, 2021, Twitter meme page posted an image macro in the same style as the Drakeposting format featuring two screenshots of Lame from the pizza hack video on the right and reaction content on the left.
